Krister Henriksson : Miscast as Wallander…

Miscast as Wallander…

I think that Krister Henriksson is a total miscast as "Kurt Wallander". Henning Mankell describes Wallander as an slightly overweight man (see "One step behind", original: "Steget efter", where he also has diabetes), who is always some kind of impulsive, reflective and a little scatterbrained.
I think, Rolf Lassgard http://www.imdb.com/board/20489858/ was perfect in the role as Wallander.

What do you think???

Re: Miscast as Wallander…

Yes. I agree with you. Much better, eventhough Henriksson is a good actor.

i think they are Both great as wallander

Re: Miscast as Wallander…

I like Rolf, but in this case, I think Krister is a better Wallander

Re: Miscast as Wallander…

I agree, I like both actors but I feel that Krister is closer to how I imagined Wallander to be. He's certainly better suited to the role than Kenneth Branagh at any rate!

Re: Miscast as Wallander…

I thought the stories were much better in the second series. I liked the actor although his character definitely different (not as deep) as the first series. I loved both actor portrayals. Loved to see them in other films.

Re: Miscast as Wallander…

I disagree, I think he fits all the criteria very well and plays the part much more scatterbrained and reflective than Lassgard who is all impulse and injects more charm into the role especially with women he takes a shine to, which I find a bit offputting.
