Re: Brandon Lee = overrated

Who the hell do you think you are, troll. Disrespecting a deceased person? Brandon Lee was on his way to being a film legend just like his father, but was killed just like his father before he got the chance. Just look at his performance in The Crow, if that doesnt say what he was going to become, I dont know what does, The Good Die young.Go Kill Yourself

"What the *beep* is the internet?"

Re: Brandon Lee = overrated

Wow!! bit harsh.! its my opinion i liked this movie..its fun, but people need to realise that if he hadn't have died, the crow wouldn't have been as well known.

Re: Brandon Lee = overrated

man, your an idiot.

Re: Brandon Lee = overrated

Im more intelligent than you could ever dream of being.Fact.

Re: Brandon Lee = overrated

can't we all just get along people? wether Brandon Lee was over rated, under rated, not rated, ultimately it doesn't matter, because he isn't alive to prove or disprove that.

fdapo-leese = Troll

Re: Brandon Lee = overrated

If you think Brandon Lee is overrated, your not very intelligent at all. This guy was fast, funny, had great timing, great martial arts skills and was great with Dolph in this movie. I have to say your opinion of Brandon Lee being overrated is pretty stupid. Plus the crow is a great movie, such a dark tone and Brandon was perfect for the role. but then again this is just my opinion but I know for a fact that there is way more people that would agree with my opinion over yours.

if you *beep* with me your suffering will be legendary even in hell.

Re: Brandon Lee = overrated

This is still the best response to this thread. Well done, sir.

I hear his theme music, he's around here somewhere

Re: Brandon Lee = overrated

No waysay what you want to get a reaction but anyone who is anyone would have to admit he was a good actor who was getting better. Above all, I always thought he had a great tone and excellent timing in his delivery. Thats not to even mention the incredible martial arts aspect.

You'd think I was Spanish how well I roll a L

Re: Brandon Lee = overrated

He got better, but he was seriously bad in this

Re: Brandon Lee = overrated

You can't really say he was overrated, his career was barely starting out, and then unfortunately he died. If you look at his three films which are easily accessible, they kept on getting better. Not only his acting, but also the entire quality of the films he was in, and it's hard to deny that. "Showdown In Little Tokyo" is not a good movie by any means, but it is fun, and "Rapid Fire" is an obvious step in acting, and story wise as well. "The Crow" is clearly his best film, and everything from his performance to the quality of picture showcase how his work was clearly improving.

Re: Brandon Lee = overrated

I say, if he didn't die, he would have been the one to play the lead in The Matrix. NOT stoic Keanu Reeves.

Brandon Lee would have made it big. Regardless if he can or can't act. He had the skills to pay the bills

Re: Brandon Lee = overrated

He was just getting started, unfortunately. Watch his fight with Al Leong in Rapid Fire, and imagine him a few later - he would've been huge.

Re: Brandon Lee = overrated

I agree with the other guy, he is seriously bad in this.

And Lee in the Matrix? Trust me, it wouldn't have been any better. Keanu is a lousy stoic actor (The Day the Earth Stood Still - ARGH!), but Lee was just as bad. His lines just don't sound like he's believing what he's saying - if that makes sense.

Re: Brandon Lee = overrated

While I'm a fan of Lee's, I'll agree this movie wasn't his best performance, but sadly his life ended way to soon before anyone ever really got to see what he might've done with his career. Speculation is almost pointless.

Re: Brandon Lee = overrated

Nope,he was a fine actor and a great action star.He would definitely be among the top echelon of action stars if he was still alive today.

Re: Brandon Lee = overrated

Well the statement you made is actually true. Brandon Lee is more appreciated than most of others who has achieved as much as him.

But you have to consider the fact that he actually had potential to become a very big star but didn't have enough time. I am a big Bruce lee fan.The fact that Brandon is his son is something that attaches me to him by default. But i would tell you something, I first saw Brandon in Rapid Fire on TV. I didn't know who he was and what the movie called when I watched it. But I really liked it very much. If anyone would ask me that this guy could be a big action star I would say yes. I didn't even know who he was.Later I discovered he was son of my star Bruce lee.Well than watched Crow and I liked it too.

Brandon is ratted based on what he could be. He deserves it man.

Re: Brandon Lee = overrated

You disrespectful son of a bitch.Brandon was a rising star taken too young, just like his father before him.The Crow is the best film of Brandon Lee aswell as rapid fire.Legacy Of Rage is not bad either.Show some respect for what could have been.

Re: Brandon Lee = overrated

Well, if we can be objective, Brandon was a lousy actor and had nowhere near the martial art skills his father had, I'd say he wasn't even in the league of Jet Li, who's not a fighter but a dancer. Truth is, his last name and the fact that he died pretty young have given him a "legendary" status, with people choosing to ignore his lack of talent. It's okay, his father was amazing, a true legend and Brandon tried to make a career out of that. The Crow was a rather lame movie that raped the original comic. yet people like to remember that film as some kind of masterpiece just because of the tragic events surrounding the movie. Fact is, if Brandon had any other last name he would have never even gotten a part in that old Dolph Ludgren vehicle in fact. Brandon was so desperate to break into mainstream action movies that people forget he spent a scene in that movie raving about the size of Dolph Ludgren's penis.

Re: Brandon Lee = overrated

Exactly.
What made 'The Crow' stand out particularly, for me anyway, was the astonishing performance from Lee, in comparison to his earlier movies. I think, aside from the fact that it shows the significance of a good Director and script, it demonstrates just what talent there was in him.
Let's face it, The Crow was not a martial arts film (there's no martial arts in it, unless you consider street brawling to be an institution of self defence), but with Lee's involvement, it could easily have been.
What it was, was a serious film, with big budget dynamics, and it's young star stepping up to the plate to show just what he could do, away from the happy-shopper, chop-socky stuff that preceded it (although I, like many others, maintain that Showdown in Little Tokyo is a great film, despite being very much of it's era, with all the straight-to-video cliches therein).
The Crow is actually more about it's dramatic performances, than it's action set pieces, and with or without the death of the leading man, would still be considered a cinematic masterpiece.
But would I know?
I'm not an argumentative troll, that still lives at home, who wasn't even a dribble down their Mother's chin when The Crow was released..
