Beauty and the Beast : Was The Prince like Kuzco?

Was The Prince like Kuzco?

It just literally occured to me that The Prince in Beauty And The Beast seemed like Prince Kuzco in Emperor's New Groove.(Prince Kuzco was going Emperor Kuzco the very next day on his 18th birthday.) They were both extremely spoiled(But The Prince in BATB was spoiled AND really bad tempered(allowed an old haggard woman to freeze in the freezing cold before he realized she was actually a beautiful young Enchantress who was testing his kindness and he failed her test. Plus, he literally threw an old man into a carriage and sent him away. Nice guy. -.- whereas Prince Kuzco was just whiny and spoiled(he got whiny when HE bumped into a bystander and accused him of "Throwing off his groove!" The nerve! Then had him literally thrown out of the palace. He then planned to demolish a peasant's house to make a summer home for his birthday. The jerk! But at least he wasn't really bad tempered, just stuck up and spoiled) and both turned into animals(One by a deliberate curse and one by accident when the Sorceress's apprentice accidentally gave him a llama potion instead of a death potion. The apprentice was kind of stupid, ;) They both realized the error of their spoiled ways(Prince Kuzco is shocked and hurt when he overheard that the Sorceress and her bumbling apprentice tried to kill him when the sorceress told off her bumbling apprentice for messing up the "Kill Prince Kuzco" plot) and the beast fell in love with Belle and cared more about her needs than his own. Both Kuzco and The Prince Beast turned back into the original human forms when The Prince Beast's curse was broken and Prince Kuzco drank a "human potion," and in a bizarre turn of events, the sorceress turned into a sulking cat! LOL. Lord have mercy! :D The bumbling apprentice became some kind of music teacher. :)

Re: Was The Prince like Kuzco?

To be honest, Adam came across as being a LOT nicer in demeanor than Kuzco did even BEFORE the curse. Sure, he was a jerk, but at least Adam didn't try to have an entire village destroyed just to make room for a summer home, not to mention Adam actually honored his end of the bargain regarding Belle, while with Kuzco, he actually DID attempt to backstab Pacha at the first opportunity that presented itself.

Re: Was The Prince like Kuzco?

Oh yeah.I forgot that Kuzco betrayed the person he made a deal with! Thanks for reminding me! And then Karma bit him in the ass seconds later as he himself ended up in the same trap he let Pacha stay in! Bad Karma is a bitch! :D

Re: Was The Prince like Kuzco?

In some ways might think so and I might turn to lead towards nom, I mean before they get their curses they are both selfish. Cuzco was not a prince, but more of an Emperor, and he was also shown to be a smarty pants where in the narration of this movie we don't hear any dialogue between the prince and the enchantress. Only the fact that she wanted shelter from the bitter cold, and she offered a rose in return for shelter form the cold, but he turned away. But she warned him not to be deceived for beauty is found within, and when he he dismissed her again her ugliest was melted away to reveal a beautiful enchantress, and he begged for forgiveness but it was too late for she had seen there was no love in his heart and for punishment she turned him into a beast and placed a spoil on the whole castle. Now Emperor Kuzco was also selfish and he wanted to kick Pacha and his family out of their home, to turned into a summer getaway for only him. And he was also pretty selfish, and one way he was shown to be a smartypants, was when Pacha asked him where would they live, and he said "don't know don't care".

Re: Was The Prince like Kuzco?

He was not a Emperor until his 18th birthday which was the next day. He was still a Prince. They were both mean before the curse. One wanted to make people homeless to make a summer home for himself and one tried to let an old woman freeze in the freezing winter(She could have DIED!).

Re: Was The Prince like Kuzco?

I never thought of that connection between the Beast and Kuzco. Maybe Kuzco was in a way the spiritual follow up to the Beast in some ways. You could argue Yzma and Kronk are like Medusa and Snoops from the Rescuers and of course Hades and Scar have similar motives.

Re: Was The Prince like Kuzco?

The Beast is sort of like Kuzco in the sense they are both turned into a creature by an old lady as punishment for being conceited. The prince becomes a beast and Kuzco becomes a llama. Of course, Yzma is a villain but the enchantress isn't.

Re: Was The Prince like Kuzco?

While I do agree that Yzma's a villain, I have to dispute your claim that the Enchantress isn't. There's the fact that she cursed his entire staff, the animals at the castle, and even the children, even though the latter two weren't responsible in any way for either Adam's treatment of the Enchantress or even Adam's character at all, and to make matters worse, apparently not being content with just cursing him, his staff, or even his castle, the prologue's windows even implied that she also was responsible for turning the entire forest into a death trap.

Re: Was The Prince like Kuzco?

I’ve been thinking and I wonder if the Enchantress could’ve been the villain instead of Gaston. If she was, they could’ve either excluded Gaston or gave him the role as the secondary villain. A lot of people have debated that the Enchantress is in fact a villain and the true villain or the big bad/bigger bad of the story. To me that was a bit of missed or wasted opportunity for her to not have a more villainous or active role in the story. She would’ve made a better villain than Gaston
