American Horror Story : Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

Someone claiming to have intel did an AMA on reddit about Season 7 but then ended up deleting everything they posted. Here is what they said before deleting their comments.

https://www.reddit.com/r/casualiama/comments/5jrmuh/i_have_minimum_knowledge_of_american_horror/

I have knowledge of American Horror Story's upcoming season including likely storylines and cast invitations.

Scripts have not been written, but a bare outline of the story has. There have been invites sent to some previous cast members, none have officially signed on again but I know who is going to. There is one relatively big actress in talks to join this season. Story will most likely change slightly depending on cast availability, but I know Murphy and Falchuks general plan and who has been invited.

EDIT: I will answer questions until this is archived, I will do it whenever I get a chance

Provided you're telling the truth about having access to that kind of information at such an early stage of pre-production, can you talk a little bit about what makes Season 7 'narratively-strange' and the places from which the writers have decided to draw inspiration for the story?.

First of all, I will say simply that the season expands on the mythos of previous seasons in a way that illustrates what the viewers might have barely missed on their first watch, or things that would be considered in the "peripheries" of the viewers mind before. There will be no interviews or internal television shows. The season will be more similar to 1-5 in how it is told, but the plan is that each new episode will contain a flashback or recreation of a scene from a previous season, which the viewer can watch with a new mindset and with previously unknown knowledge.

The foundation of the plot relies on a botched abortion carried out by Dr. Charles. There is a strong connection between the worlds of season 1 and season 4

Will these flashbacks include deleted scenes from previous seasons that we know exist (i.e. Gloria threatening Regina with a gun as shown in the teaser for Blood Bath)?

I am not entirely sure, the script has not been properly written. A few unaired storylines from Murder House will appear but when I mentioned flashbacks, it was in direct reference to scenes viewers have already witnessed.

Also, to reply to the part about writers inspiration; aside from drawing inspiration directly from previous seasons of American Horror Story, there are a few other main sources of inspiration.

Try to think of what 2016 might have looked like to people in all decades from the 20th century. The Stepford Wives has been a huge influence on this season. Additionally, there will be references paid to an obscure 80's/90's-published horror magazine for teenagers known as "Spine Chillers", more specifically to two stories from these magazines known as "What's the matter with Martin?" and "Game Over".

Thanks. I'm naturally taking what you say with a pinch of salt, but I at least hope there is some truth to what you're saying. If you are in fact genuine, thanks for sharing. Could you reveal the current casting plans for this season?

Jessica Lange has been informally invited back on numerous occasions, but I can almost say with certainty that she will not return. It's would be a dream at this point but it's unlikely.

Angela Bassett, Denis O'Hare, Cuba Gooding Jr, Evan Peters and Frances Conroy will come back. Of course, with contracts not being set in stone, they could back out but it's unlikely.
Lady Gaga is going to try her best to return but it's unlikely.

Kate Mara, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, Matt Bomer, Emma Roberts, Cheyenne Jackson and Kathy Bates have all been asked to return.

Additionally, Jamie Lee Curtis has been pitched a role.

EDIT: Before I forget, a small guest story arc has been pitched to singer India Arie. That's all I know of so far.

Will Adina Porter be back?

I hope so. I haven't heard anything but she's a fantastic actress.

Aren't you under an NDA?

Nope. I don't work for Ryan Murphy. The person who told me has an NDA, which is why I don't want to reveal who they are.

So what is the bare outline? What theme could we be seeing? Are there any plans to bring back the opening title sequence? And lastly how will this change the way future seasons play out?

I can't answer your question about the opening title sequence honestly because I simply don't know whether it will make a comeback.

A child born after one of Dr. Montgomery's failed abortions is born deformed, and, shunned from society, is put into the care of a string of Freakshow "families" around America. After the end of the Freakshow era, the child, now an adult, attempts to conform to society in a very literal way. This is the bare bones of the storyline as of now.

I am not quite sure about future seasons.

What characters from Freak Show will we see again? Will Bette and Dot's child be involved in this?

There are plans to bring Desiree back, it is likely that Angela Bassett will return. I am not sure about other characters, it entirely depends on availability. Desiree's past was never truly explored. Bette and Dot's child has been encountered already, it would spoil too much to tell you who it is.

It's probably Vivian because she said that she has family in Florida but you don't have to confirm or deny that lmao. Is there any chance that we will see more of the Motts? (Maybe Gloria's backstory)

As I've mentioned to somebody else, the season will provide new information that will (hopefully) click with viewers and give them a better understanding of how the series works in its entirety. It's interesting that you should mention Gloria Mott, her character is connected to season 7. Some of her background has been, in a WAY, explored in places you would not expect.

Is there any chance that this could involve the long standing Oliver Thredson is Dandy's brother theory?

Gloria Mott is Oliver Thredson's mother. I wasn't aware that this was a theory already, but apparently it is and it's correct. Gloria gave Oliver up after her husband became particularly unlucky with money, and Oliver was kept a secret, shipped away to an orphanage near Boston. Gloria was depressed for several years, blaming her husband for having to give her only son up, and after one particularly messy suicide attempt, she discovered that she was pregnant again. With Dandy. In her grief over Oliver, and because her husband had once again struck wealth, Gloria smothered Dandy in love and affection and never told him of his older brother.

Ben Harmon is the son of Lana Winters and Oliver Thredson. Johnny Morgan was an impostor that came about through mere coincidence and emotional assumptions, a psychologically disturbed man who, through obsession, attached himself to Lana Winters. She never recognized him. They are not in any way related, he's an orphan, sure, but he's not Lana's orphan.

Ben grew up in orphanages, fostered and eventually adopted by Mr and Mrs Harmon when he was a child. They were both extremely devout fundamentalists. He was an extremely rebellious child and his parents were hard on him. Ben got involved with drink and drugs, and (as suggested in Season 1) saw a lot of Tate Langdon in himself. His parents had given up hope

The decision to use red heads in Murder House (Vivien, Moira, the Twins) represents Gloria Mott, Ben's paternal grandmother, who watched over him and appeared to him as a young toddler. Gloria was the only truly maternal figure in Ben Harmon's life, and after disappearing for many years, she made her final appearance during an overdose of heroin Ben took in his teens, which eventually managed to get him on the straight and narrow.

Gloria died in 1952 so how could she visit Ben in his teens?

This is American Horror Story

There seems to be a lot of character crossovers, but what exactly is the theme going to be called and what elements from season 7 will be original and have no crossovers?

The subtitle hasn't been decided upon but the majority of the season will take place in the 1970's in a suburban housing complex. There will be supernatural horror but this season will deal primarily with human-based science fiction. Additionally, all of the main characters will be new creations.

Will season 7 bring more camp into the show or is it gonna be really dark again? Also can you quickly summarize the plot?

This season is going to be driven by a very camp group of characters in a very camp setting. Delightfully colorful and sinister. Think Desperate Housewives meets Ghost in the Machine and you're halfway there.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

It's definitely interesting, but I learned never to trust Reddit. I'll wait until Paleyfest to know for sure.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

I agree! Could be true...but could also not be. I am now intrigued by the idea of a 1970's suburban housing development "Stepford Wives" setting.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

I'd really love to see a season set in the 70's.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

India Aire YAS!

But the plot doesn't sound that interesting to me

Burn the witch

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

I had to look her up. Seems like a weird casting, even if everything is fake.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

Patti Labelle was weird casting too.. they still did it though

True.

I will never not post this when someone mentions Patti Labelle.

Less than forget. But more than begun.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

Ridiculously goodlooking cheekbones. She and Mads Mikkelsen should have a baby.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

I'm so glad you posted this. That clip never fails to make me laugh! Her eye rolls are the best.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

Sounds like a load of sht to me, and I only read the first quote. However, if he gets sued for breaching his NDA then I will believe the idiot.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

Ben Harmon is not the son of Oliver Threadson Lana Winters lol. Dylan McDermott played a different character that year and that wasn't Ben Harmon in Asylum that was the son of Oliver Threadson and Lana Winters, but a different character ...obviously this person is making up crap.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

I would love for a suburb stepford housewifes season..but I'm not believing any rumors this year..reading all those season 6 theories took a lot out of me...I'm so glad that orphanage rumor was wrong

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

Sounds fake. It's clear season seven does something with the ocean/water

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

I call fake as well.

Aren't you under an NDA?

Nope. I don't work for Ryan Murphy. The person who told me has an NDA, which is why I don't want to reveal who they are.

I know people in the film industry. They are very tight lipped, especially when talking to a blabbermouth.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

The guy/gal did end up deleting everything they posted, so there is a chance word got round and they ended up getting someone in trouble.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

Interesting stuff. I'm taking it all with a pinch of salt but I like the idea of Gloria Mott being Oliver's mother.

Ryan did say Freak Show characters would return to s7 but then the poster could have read this of course.

I also like the idea of a 1970's Desperate Housewives type setting. American Horror Story: Suburbia?

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

so there is a chance word got round and they ended up getting someone in trouble.

If that's the case what a lousy thing to do.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

The weird thing is that the friend apparently told him/her things about the season in great detail, as if the person read a script. Either everything is fake or that is one stupid friend.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

I still think it's fake. AMAs on imdb are usually drunk postings, but if it's real and the crew member got found out, he/she will never get another gig.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

If that's the case what a lousy thing to do.

yes dani ,i agree ,indeed such a lousy thing to do , your friend give you some information why you post it in first place if you knew there is a chance they would get in troubles .by the way i do not believe it i think they are trolls who want attention even deleting it is a way to attract more attention and make it more legit

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

Why do people still believe "leaks" ?

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

Honestly, it tickles me.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

Someone leaked Cloverfield Lane and it was true, same for Rings

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

Well, I meant about American Horror Story.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

WAIT BEN IS LANA'S SON ?! LANA IS VIOLET'S GRANDMOTHER ?!

WHY DIDN'T I KNOW THIS OMG I ALWAYS THOUGHT DYLAN WAS JUST PLAYING A DIFFERENT CHARACTER LIKE EVERYONE ELSE

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

Maybe she had twins?
"Whoa, Summers, you drive like a spaz!"

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

I hope all the Gloria Mott info is true because it means lots more of FRANCES CONROY!!! She is the BEST. 😍

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

Gloria did seem very stepford wifey-ish...maybe she was "The 1st experiment". Not interested in her being connected to season 1 though tbh.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

Sounds like BS to me. Just someone writing fanfiction to pass the time between seasons.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

AHS Paleyfest will be panel will be on March 26. Ryan said previously we'd get the next season's theme announced in the spring. Under 3 months to go.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

I actually adore these ideas and would love anything Stepford Wives-inspired, but I doubt they are true, esp since they state Ben Harmon is Lana's child (not correct).

Also, I thought the common theory during Freak Show was that Oliver was Dandy's therapist, not his brother?

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

Yeah I am unfortuntely not wanting to believe it but kinda wishing it is true

Like bringing back Desiree because she wasn't really involved all that much in season 4 and I want to see some new backstory on her.

I also like the Gloria Mott theory. However, both cases I think could be said about any fan of the show.

A theory about Gloria being the mother to Oliver Thredson's other son Danny. Could be possible, he attacked loads of women.

But alas I think these are common theories and I don't know, a bit too easy a speculation about the following season for my taste.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

1st of all - Reddit.
2nd - Remember the promo material for previous season with creatures, aliens, demons and etc.? Well how did that work out?

Part of me still hopes they will come close to season 1 and 2, but most likely season 7 will be the final season. I don't know if it is me being "special" or demanding that the last season was utter trash, or general population having low standards for the horror genre after all of those sh*tty haunting movies with copy paste scripts.

I really hope they will pick it up :(

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

Did you miss the announcement yesterday? It's already been renewed for seasons 8 and 9.

_____
Holy moly, it's like a greatest hits of crazy!
There is no such thing as the simple truth.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

The fact show is promised 8 and 9 season does not mean it can't get cancelled. If numbers keep dropping this announcement does not have any meaning behind it.
As I said before, I just hope they make following seasons interesting.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

Season 6's numbers were a little better than season 5's. It's still FX's top show for 18-49 and second overall, by a sizable margin over most of the also-rans. None of that necessarily has to do with quality- Roanoke's my least favorite season- but it's been renewed for a reason. I also hope for interesting upcoming seasons.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

general population having low standards for the horror genre after all of those sh*tty haunting movies with copy paste scripts.

So because you didn't like season 6 anyone who did enjoy the ride has low standards? Yeah dude, that's pretty special. Oh and by the way, I don't like those shtty haunting movies either but I'm not going to insult those who do as having low standards. That's just plain arrogance. It's the free world and people are able to choose what they like just as you are free to chose what you don't like.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

Instead of grasping at straws as to what the theme will be for next season, or even season's 8 and 9, I tend to wonder more about what season Ryan Murphy wants to "remake."

It is going to get wet in here tonight. Lace your boots up, kiddies.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

It's not just me. There is a pretty large group of people that did not enjoy 6th season. This is why news about show being extended for 1 or more season comes kind of as a shocker. Views dropped hard, people were unhappy due to messed up/boring plot.
If you were able to read, I am not taking away any of your freedoms, as matter of fact, irony is that you misusing my sayings as the don't fit your opinion. And try to prove me wrong about downgrading standards in movie making, especially horror genre, when fking there are 20 movies of Paranormal activity.
At this point I just hope that show will learn on its mistakes and improve on the horror aspect.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

Maybe having a read of my thread and then you will understand.

There are people who have different tastes about the seasons becuase guess what? They are different seasons for different tastes?

Read my thread for further details

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

There is a pretty large group of people that did not enjoy 6th season.

I never said otherwise. There has been a group in every season that didn't like it.

, when fking there are 20 movies of Paranormal activity.

20 in the franchise? Please don't exaggerate.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

Views dropped hard

It really didn't though. Viewership went up with this season. As did critical response. It's fine if you don't like the season, but at least be truthful about it.

Re: Season 7 - plot revealed on reddit - verrrrry interesting!

Interesting. We'll see at the official reveal, since they're not doing the mystery promotion this season. I wonder if they would've continued with that trend had the reception been better. I thought it was fine enough, was just confusing when we were still confused after the premiere.
