Beavis and Butt-Head : Anyone else hate the music video segments?

Anyone else hate the music video segments?

It's seriously annoying when you're engrossed in a hilarious story scenario but you have to keep cutting back to these boring music video reviews. Some of them are funny, but I hate it when a great episode with a genius premise gives way to a damn music video. The content is hardly ever funny; mostly just saying "this sucks" or "this rules" 15 times or laughing at something for a solid 30 seconds. What makes it worse is that the characters have no consistency in their music taste; Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Megadeth, Pantera, Napalm Death = "rules/kicks ass", but Death, Exodus, Overkill, Accept, Cannibal Corpse, Entombed, and King Diamond "suck"? It's cringeworthy to hear B&B call King Diamond a "dumbass" and "the worst band ever" when one of them is wearing a Metallica shirt. On top of that, why would immature idiotic 15 year old metalheads like Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Kanye West, or any sort of electronic/pop music? Makes zero sense.

And I love how people bash the new season for reviewing Jersey Shore and My Strange Addiction...like, how is it any different? At least TV shows have actual content to criticize instead of calling someone fat and laughing about for 30 solid seconds.

Re: Anyone else hate the music video segments?

Did you just call Death crap?

Re: Anyone else hate the music video segments?

I always hated them. I just got Hulu, and I was glad they didn't include them. Probably the worst part of watching the show.

Re: Anyone else hate the music video segments?

When I was younger, I used to hate the music video segments because I didn't even know who the hell the music artists were!

I was a baby when this show was on the air, so I was too young to experience the show in its original run, plus during my childhood I grew up watching Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network.

When I was 10 years old, every day after school, I'd watch Comedy Central because I was obsessed with "South Park" and really badly wanted to watch that show, but my parents forbid me to do it, however, I did end up becoming addicted to "Mad TV" (remember that show?).

How does this relate to "Beavis and Butthead"? They used to show reruns of "Beavis and Butthead" in the mid 2000's on Comedy Central.

I loved this show, but I hated whenever they would do those music video segments because I didn't even know who the musicians were! In fact, I bet back in the 90's when some people were watching "Beavis and Butthead", they didn't know who most of the artists that they would be making fun of (or praising) were.

However, I do think this "Beavis and Butthead" music video segment is funny:

I actually love the song that's playing, but the music video is terrible. They were right on the money when they said "It looks like he went to the toilet in the bathtub!" .

Re: Anyone else hate the music video segments?

no they are the best part

Re: Anyone else hate the music video segments?

I loved every part of the show, videos and all

Re: Anyone else hate the music video segments?

I like the Music Videos individually rather than part of the episode.

Re: Anyone else hate the music video segments?

the video segments and episodes are funny on there own but i hate how they keeping back and fourth between them. they shoudl've had 5 minutes of plot, then 5 minutes of review, not just cutting between them. i agree that it kinda destroys the pacing. the movie was amazing because it didnt do that; it just focused on one thing.

Re: Anyone else hate the music video segments?

Yes! So much yes! The story part is what makes the show so awesome. Having it cut out in between so-so video reviews really annoys the *beep* out of me. Like somebody else said, the movie was amazing because it focused only on the story part. I thought I was the only one before coming here on the IMDB board!

Re: Anyone else hate the music video segments?

I also agree with the inconsistency in music taste. Sometimes it just doesn't make any *beep* sense. I know they're retarded, but it just seems like lazy writing.

Re: Anyone else hate the music video segments?

Nope, they're great. Especially watching them now, with those many "only in the '90s" kind of bands, it's an interesting time capsule experience. And, well, a lot of them are simply very funny.

Re: Anyone else hate the music video segments?

As a kid I always liked them because Judge a lot of the time would always pick the most weird obscure music videos that I would've never been aware of if they weren't shown on B&B. For the most part those were videos I never saw played on MTV back then, only a few of them I remember seeing before on those late night MTV shows that showed the less mainstream music like Headbangers Ball or Alternative Nation. God MTV was great in the 90s, I'm currently on a nostalgia high and reliving my childhood watching all the old Liquid Television episodes.
