Johnny Cash : Johnny Cash vs Bob Dylan

Which one do you like more? I love both but I'd say Cash by a very slight margin.

They were both genuine artists in the true sense of the word.

As Bob Johnston once told Cash (about himself and Dylan) "You don't just make records. You make records that mean something to you and the people who hear them."

It doesn't matter who I like more. They both mean alot to alot of people.

You know they were friends, right? Dylan had a lot of influence over Cash, and I believe they once lived together in the early 60s.

Cash lived with Waylon Jennings for a short time in the 60s when his marriage to first wife Vivian was falling apart, but he never lived with Dylan. They were though, as you say, good friends and respected and admired each other's work.

That's right, and in the movie about Cash, Shooter Jennings played his dad.

I saw Waylon at the Grand Old Opry several years ago. He walked out on stage unexpectedly. I've seen Willie in concert a couple of times, but never got to see Johnny Cash in person.
