Clerks : In many ways, Randal was actually a better guy than Dante.

In many ways, Randal was actually a better guy than Dante.

On the surface, Dante seemed like the diplomatic, nice guy who was always keeping the peace and caught in the middle. On the other hand, Randal might be obnoxious and rude, but he was the real hero. Brutally honest, fearless, and so much more aware of what was going on in their lives. Surprisingly alot more respectful of women too, making it a point to tell Dante how messed up it was of him to be talking to Caitlin behind Veronica's back without letting her know how he felt. And yet it's clear how much he obviously cares about Dante, warning Caitlin not to hurt him again. Dante may not have realized it, but Randal is the best friend he could ask for.

P.S. That's not to say Dante was a bad guy or anything, he basically had a good heart but just didn't think things through.

Re: In many ways, Randal was actually a better guy than Dante.

Randal was just a good observer. Dante just couldn't process it well enough. He needed the advice and to be set straight.

It's very realistic.
