Casa de mi Padre : Subtitled wrong on purpose?

The version I started watching had horrifyingly wrong subtitles. I was just wondering if that was part of the humor, or maybe the subs aren't hardcoded and Well, I dunno.

It was definitely intentional. I think part of the reason they did it is the fact that a lot of lower budget films tend to translate films incorrectly, sometimes its because sayings or phrases in a native language just don't translate well. But thats really the joke here, if you just translate each word individually you'll get something like what you see in this film. Another thing is some words translate differently formally and informally, so you get words with multiple meanings translated incorrectly.

Yea I noticed that too, but it added to the humor I think.

I wish I could speak Spanish well enough to know!

totally intentional, part of the genius of the comedy. This movie was hysterical.
