He has every reason to do something to discredit Carrie, and thereby keep her from 'advising' the new president; and if it comes out (which Dar could make happen) that the newly discredited Carrie who will be seen as defending a suicide car bomber was directly advising the new President, it's a two-fer for Dar Adal.

He harms the new president by association (whom he clearly is against with her stated aims and policies).

Dar had the most reason to do this.
