Sling Blade : Was there a cut scene of Doyle, Carl, and Vaughan driving to the store?

Was there a cut scene of Doyle, Carl, and Vaughan driving to the store?

In the film there's the scene on the patio where Doyle and his friends are going to go to the liquor store and he invites Carl and Vaughan to go along. There's some argument from Linda but eventually they get up to go with him and then we just cut to the scene in the living room.

It seems to me, given the dialogue and the dynamic of having those characters together in such close quarters at that time it would have been a scripted and filmed scene.

I've never seen the director's cut but I did find a picture of them in the truck together.

Interesting. I'm curious now too.

Re: Was there a cut scene of Doyle, Carl, and Vaughan driving to the sto

Yes, and in that scene they come across the police dept., Deputies on duty, and we see that Doyle does in fact control the town. If I remember correctly the cops in their car say something like, well don't drink too much and drive or something like that. And Karl and Vaughn are there to see that.

We could debate all night if (us seeing) that Karl and Vaughn realize Doyle's influence over the local police has any bearing on what happens next.
Billy Bob Thornton discussed this a little in the commentary, but in the end of course it was cut.

. Ephemeron.
