Megan Follows : Anne Shirley vs. Catherine Medici

The only films I've seen of Megan Follows was Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea. I LOVED these movies ever since I was a kid and yes this is corny, but I felt like the character of Anne Shirley was a "kindred spirit." (Face palm).

Last week I started watching Reign and I had no idea that Megan Follows was in it as Catherine Medici. I understand that Catherine loves her children but she is a ruthless murderer!

Was anyone else completely shocked by the difference in characters that Megan Follows portrayed? Anne Shirley was this lovable misfit who brought everyone together. Catherine Medici is the polar opposite.

I definitely have a new and improved respect for Megan as an actress.

OmegaWolf747, you just described the EXACT same thing that happened with me, with the familiarity of her as Catherine, not really putting a finger on it, and then seeing her name in the opening of one of the episodes! Ahaha, so funny. I felt like I could have written your post.

I never saw "Anne", but that is the sign of a GOOD actor - someone who so completely "dissappears" into their role, you do not recognize them. "Reign" is disney-nonsense, of course, but she is so bloody brilliant (and funny to boot, despite the fact she is playing a psychopath ), I am actually rooting for the character (most) of the time. I'd love to see her in a huge big hit movie doing a comedy role. I'd queue to get tickets !

I just started watching Season 2 of Reign on Netflix, and am so enjoying more of Megan as Catherine not only does she play the strength of her role well but she is really witty and great fun to watch!!

She is phenomenal as Catherine. I love the show but she truly makes all the more entertaining. She has been generous to the real Catherine de Medici but still deliciously evil. Her scenes with Henry were great. She is great actress

It is hard to believe the sweet Anne Shirley girl is now playing Queen Catherine Medici.

If you like Megan Follows , you should watch the old episode of the "Second Chance " (19931994) .It was cancel after one season , but you can see Megan Follows and Jennifer Lopez together , it is wonderful to see Megan and Jennifer together .

I use to watch "Second Chances" back in the day. I liked it. Does anyone know if Megan and JLo are still friends? Personally I think Megan excels in period shows. It's too bad " Mad Men" was cancelled, I think she would have been great in that as well. Maybe someday she could make a cameo on "When The Heart Calls" as well.
