Kevin Spacey : It's such a shame…

It's such a shame…

that he throws a baseball like a little girl. I'm watching the second season of HOC and he's practicing to throw out the first pitch and he's embarrassing himself. I'm so disappointed cuz I like Kevin Spacey, I always have, but he can't do something that all men should be able to dothrow a baseball!!

I've seen it so many times tooTom Cruise, Danny McBridecountless othersit's such a shame. Unfortunately, I've lost a bit of respect for Spacey.

Conversely, I always thought James Van DerBeek was a total douche until I saw Varsity Blues and noticed he could actually throw a football.

I don't understand how an American male never learned how to throw a ball. Oh well. He's still cool, but certainly less cool than I previously thought.

Re: It's such a shame…

Boohoo.

Re: It's such a shame…

that was part of the plot.

Re: It's such a shame…

You are truly shallow.

Re: It's such a shame…

You ever see Obama throw a baseball? I doubt throwing the ball "like a girl" was a character choice that Kevin made but anythings possible, right?

Re: It's such a shame…

Yea, I've seen Obama throw a baseball and he doesn't embarrass himself in the least bitthen again, he's an all-around good athlete.

It's funny you brought up Obama. When Donald Trump and others were calling him out for not showing his birth certificate, I always thought they should watch him throw a baseball. Thatamong plenty of other evidenceproved he's an American through and through.

I'm not saying any male who can throw a baseball is American, but if your citizenship is under question, it'll help make your case.

Re: It's such a shame…

Most showbiz people aren't jocks.

Even still, Kevin Spacey throws baseballs the way the director tells him too. He's an actor. He threw the ball the way any "Francis" would.

Re: It's such a shame…

I know people say LOL a lot without actually laughing out loud. But your post literally made me laugh out loud. Hahaha! I needed thatThanks.

Also, sorry for offending anybody with my original post. It was just an observation. I'm not saying every male American should throw like Nolan Ryan, but I believe that we all should be able to comfortably throw a baseball. Maybe it is shallow to think like that; however, it's just my opinion and IMDB is a great place to share them.

I don't think I'm alone in my opinion either. Look how often networks replay videos of celebrities throwing out the first pitch at MLB games. They play the videos of 50 Cent, Carl Lewis, Mark Wahlberg (his was wild, but you could tell he knew how to throw) and Gary Dell'Abate all the time. They're always presented in a comical way.

Again, I still think Spacey is a phenomenal actor and I love the show. I just wish he knew how to throw a baseball.

Re: It's such a shame…

That is so stupid. The man is a legend & one of the greatest actors ever & you nitpick about a ball? I don't care how he throws it, he's perfect in my eyes. Find other things to complain about.

Re: It's such a shame…

Well the character is gay. Just sayin.

Re: It's such a shame…

It shouldn't make a difference if he's gay or not. No one knows if Kevin Spacey is gay or not, my guess as a gay man is yes. This has to be the most shallow and ignorant statement I've read yet on these postings. Look at Billy Bean, gay as they come, but played professional baseball, as well as Glenn Burke who was an openly gay baseball player and his team didn't care. Not to mention the c5b4ountless NFL players and NBA players who have come out after their careers ended. I would love for you to tell the many "out" Rugby players that their sissys, I'd be willing to bet you would loose a few teeth.

To say that just because someone can't throw a baseball or a football because of sexual orientation is just plain ridiculous. Not everyone in this country was forced by their dads to play sports as a kid so they wouldn't grow up to be called a "sissy". I'm not even sure why I even responded to this post because the original posting and those who agree with his shallow ideology and lack of respect for others have some serious psychological issues they need to work on. Spacey might not be able to throw. Ball, but I bet he can throw a punch.

To say you have lost respect for someone who can't throw a baseball is like saying you can't respect a person who grew up in Colorado and can't ski. It's pure ignorance.

Re: It's such a shame…

It matters in this discussion because the OP was mad that Kevin Spacey threw a ball like a sissy. The character threw the ball.

Re: It's such a shame…

The only thing I can say positive about this post is that, yes, Van Derbeek is a douche, Tom Cruise could get hit by a bus and I would throw a party. My question is, can you throw a baseball from a pitchers mound on a pro field ? If so, then why does it make you a more of a man. I'll be willing to bet there are girls out there that can do a better job than you can. Sounds to me me like you have some masculinity issues you need to work out. Maybe you are questioning your own sexuality. I definitely think you have a Van DerBeek crush.
