Directors : Quentin Tarantino

Quentin Tarantino

This guy has given me some of the best thrills, and the best laughs of my life. In my eyes, he's pretty untouchable. Seen all his movies. - Don't really have a fave…Although Pulp Fiction is way up there!!

Re: Quentin Tarantino

pulp fiction is, scene for scene, maybe the most memorable movie ever. it's got walken too with a great walken cameo. i don't think tarantino has ever come close to matching its brilliance. just a cool ass film. so unique. of his work this century, django unchained is probably his best. samuel jackson and dicaprio steal the show.

Re: Quentin Tarantino

I thought Christoph Waltz was pretty damn perfect too!

You'll either laugh, or ban me from your site!

Re: Quentin Tarantino

Tarantino is a genius. The man really knows how to tell a great story on film.
I think there are a lot of people who are into "classic films" that don't give him his due. If he'd been working 40 years ago (in an alternative universe), those same people who today dismiss him would be singing his praises.

I just watched one of his earliest films (as writer) this past week: True Romance.

It was terrific. And an amazing cast for a project written by an at-that-time pretty much unknown writer: Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Dennis Hopper, Christopher Walken, James Gandolfini, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Val Kilmer, Tom Sizemore, Michael Rapaport, Saul Rubinek, Michael Beach, and Brad Pitt.

I think the only films I've seen of his that I didn't really like were From Dusk Till Dawn and Grindhouse, and even those had some good moments.

Re: Quentin Tarantino

Yes, I agree. True Romance is a great little under-the-radar movie. It was directed by Tony Scott, but Tarantinos script, and influence make it his movie. Jackie Brown is another of his more staid efforts. Great fun.
