this is a stupid logic people don't care about a b or c list character but for a movie, nobody knew what avatar was and it earned close to 3 billion, matrix, inception, interstellar, gravity, etc these movies are not based on anything and they grossed insane amount of money and moreover suicide squad earned more than MOS and MOS came 3 years ago and since then more screens have been added, more imax theaters have been build and there is thing called inflation(mos will be above 700m now) and marvel studio name which all helped doctor strange

17 years ago without 3d, imax, lesser screens and limited foreign reach, rated R, all things considering it was huge in that period
