The Ignorant Fairies : Could Ernir be the father??

Could Ernir be the father??

OK, she told the doctor that Massimo was the father. That might have been the most convenient thing to say at the time. I don't think she knows for sure. Clearly she'd been sleeping with Emir, and the time lapsed between when they met and when she left is unclear. Doubtful that this stunning, free spirited man would invite her to travel without a regular thing going on. She might want the baby but is not in love with Emir. Perhaps it is Massimo's child. In either case, to me the paternity is uncertain, although as an HIV professional, one might assume that she'd insist on condoms. I think she goes to sort it all out.

Re: Could Ernir be the father??

No. She never slept with Emir and the baby was definitely Massimo's. The poetic irony was that her husband, Massimo, did not want children...yet Antonia was unknowingly carrying his baby at the time of his death. The conception may have occurred that night they made love outside, just prior to his accident.

She will now go on to make a life with her baby...and likely return to her mother and friends after a while of quiet solitude and "freedom" (which her mom's pendant symbolized at the end). This was indicated by the glass not breaking that Michele dropped (at the end). Someone he loves (Antonia) is not gone forever. In fact, she will return with a bit of Massimo too (the baby).

Re: Could Ernir be the father??

I agree with you. I think she never slept with Emir and Massimo is the father of the baby she is expecting.

I just wonder what kind of relationship Antonia and Michele will have. A romantic bond? A friendship devoted to Massimo's memory? What do you think about it?
