Re: RIP James Garner
One of my all-time favorite actors. He had such a great easy-going presence, and one smile and you knew you liked him.
He was always great in Maverick, Rockford, The Great Escape, Murphy's Romance, The Americanization of Emily, The Skin Game, The Notebook, etc.
He definitely will be missed.

Re: RIP James Garner
It really struck me hard that he died. He was one of those people you just kind of think will always be around.
We should all be grateful that we have TV, reruns, and DVDs available to us, so we can enjoy Garner's work forever.
I loved him in Maverick, which aired before my time, but I got hooked on years later in reruns. And Jim as Rockford? Priceless.
RIP, Jimbo.

Re: RIP James Garner
James Garner and Jack Lemmon are the only actors I can think of about whom no one ever had a bad word to say.
Re: RIP James Garner
So long Jimbo Rockford, you looked so much like my Godfather in your detective days,I had two semi-identical Godfathers back in the early eighties, now I only have one.Thank You for every single moment of entertainment.Rest In Peace..

Re: RIP James Garner
RIP. Obviously I think Maverick was his best work, but there are a lot of highlights in his long career.
Re: RIP James Garner
My Favorite television series of all time was Maverick. I believed Jim Garner made the series click. It was happy and frivolous even when Brett was being arrested for bank robbery. Huggins hired the prettiest actresses in the business which added to the series just as the Bond girls elevated the Bond series. Brett and Bart were the anti-heroes of the westerns of the 1950's..great TV.
Jim Garner was good in Maverick.and just as good in Rockford Files and each of the movies he made. I always liked him in each role he played. Sorry to see him pass. One of those entertainers I loved!
