Do you even like Groundhog Day movie or just here to make troubles, hana!?

Nancy, of course.

Nancy. Not that she's the most compelling female character ever written, but Rita is one of the few beefs I have with that otherwise awesome movie. I don't have anything against Andie MacDowell (although I'm no fan of hers) it's the writing. For example, for as long as I remember, I've always been put off by that scene where she pulls a long face just because Bill Murray didn't drink to world's peace. I still wonder what the hell was that, and if the writer honestly thought that would make her likeable.

LOL. I thought of the same thing. I wonder though if her reaction wasn't supposed to be because he didn't drink to world peace (her favorite toast), but because he toasted the GroundHog with that silly grin.

Maybe in he toasted *anything* else she wouldn't have reacted so.

Not to be contrary, but I'd take Rita over the long haul. I think Nancy is more traditionally beautiful and she was a nice enough person, but a lifetime of living with a dim bulb is a deal breaker for me.

Beauty is subjective to be sure, but I'm sure if you take a poll here, you'll find that most people would say that Nancy was prettier than Rita. You think MacDowell is prettier, and I can't argue that because she is to you.

I don't necessarily agree that one is better looking than the other but I recognize that most guys would pick Nancy over Rita just on looks. To me, I need to see something more, such as intelligence in the eyes. Beauty to me is far more than the superficial.

And while I agree that MacDowell is a very pretty woman, there are a lot of borderline homely women working the runways these days!!

She wasn't a runway model, she was on the cover of very high profile magazines and on billboards. She had big money contracts with makeup companies who shot close-ups of her face. That's not a job for homely women, unlike walking a runway where the point is to be a tall and skinny human mannequin for the clothes.

Before seeing this thread I would not have believed a poll of any random group of guys would pick Nancy over Rita in terms of pure beauty. But after seeing so many responses to this effect, I have to concede that you might be right. All I can say (and there is no way to state this without coming across like a snob, so I will just own it) is that this can only reflect a very lowbrow taste level. Like if you think that women on the cover of a magazine like Elle or Cosmopolitan are not that hot, but the really beautiful ones are on Bud Light posters, then maybe this preference is somewhat comprehensible.

I always wondered why Donald Trump would pick someone with a plain, generic looking Midwestern type face like Marla Maples as his second wife, when he could have any number of exotic looking models, but now I think I have a better understanding of it. That's just what appeals to people with no class and very gauche, lowbrow tastes, I guess.

I'd go with Rita. But I'd be thinking about Nancy.

For a one night stand it would be Nancy but long-term Rita. Nancy had a really low self-esteem Phil called her Rita twice and she still let him pump her.
