The Royal Tenenbaums : Royals epitaph

Royals epitaph

"Died tragically rescuing his family from the wreckage of a destroyed sinking battleship."

This obviously signified his eccentric behaviour and the fact he had stated earlier that he would like something heroic on his headstone.... BUT..., I wonder if the director intended it to also have an element of truth. As in the family were pretty much a mess(albeit down to Royal) and he came back and made amends helping his children out their slump. And making amends to an extent with his ex wife.

Re: Royals epitaph

That's certainly the impression I was given.

Re: Royals epitaph

Its very funny on the surface, but there is a double meaning.

Re: Royals epitaph

I think that is obvious.
