Django : the word 'Django'

the word 'Django'

Is it copyrighted, I'm doing a movie and my character was written with the name Django, but before I film my scenes, I wanted to know if the name is copyrighted. Thanks.

Re: the word 'Django'

Given the hundreds of movies with the Django name and character that were made after this one, I seriously doubt it.

Re: the word 'Django'

Since it's a common Spanish language name I kind of doubt it.

Re: the word 'Django'

Is it? I'm spanish and I've never ever in my life heard of anyone named like that. In fact the DJ together without a vowel in between it's pretty anti spanish itself. Wish it was tho, cause it's a darn cool name.

Re: the word 'Django'

My mistake sorry, infact it would be pretty hard to pronounce in Spanish sombrero.gif.

My guess is that it originates from Gipsy language since guitarist Django Reinhardt is the most famous real bearer of that name.

Re: the word 'Django'

'Let's eat Grandma!' or, 'Let's eat, Grandma!' Punctuation saves lives. Use it. Save a life.

Re: the word 'Django'

Django was popularized as the Romani language nickname of Jean "Django" Reinhardt, meaning "I awake.
