Suits : Is Mike allowed…
Re: Is Mike allowed…
Getting the degree does not mean he can pass the ethics board
Re: Is Mike allowed…
Why not?
I mean, he didn't kill anybody.
Everybody deserves a 2nd chance.

Re: Is Mike allowed…
I know what "ethics" is. It's one of the 50.000+ Greek words that are in the English dictionary.
Than again, I still don't understand on why he wouldn't be able to pass the Ethics Board, if he did everything in the right way.
I mean, ok I get that he cheated, but he got punished for it.
Anyway,I take for granted that he can't become a lawyer.
Can he become a paralegal? If yes, do paralegals have the right to take part in trials? I don't mean to make arguments in court, but just being next to a real lawyer, assisting him.
We saw in last episode that his colleague needed help and Mike couldn't give assists because he was in the audience.
But than again, when Rachel and Jessica took the case with the death penalty guy, Rachel made arguments in court and also questioned a witness while being only a student.

Re: Is Mike allowed…
I wondered this as well. I was under the impression that a person on trial could have anyone argue their case for them, lawyer or not. The filing and legalities would have to be done by a licensed lawyer, but I thought you could have anyone speak for you in court.
Is that not true?

Re: Is Mike allowed…
A law student needs a licensed lawyer to supervise them in court or they can't preside over the case.

Re: Is Mike allowed…
Of course he could pass an ethics board, but it might take a while. There are other felons who have become lawyers, and ones who have done much worse things than Mike ever did. There is one lawyer in NY (Neal Weisner) who was in prison for attempted murder. It took him 12 years to prove he was rehabilitated before New York State would admit him to the bar though.

Thanks for your input :)
Re: Is Mike allowed…
If anybody could argue his case to the ethics board it would be Mike or Harvey. I'm sur between the two of them (and maybe that Harvard professor), they'll be able to convince the bar to pass him.
Re: Is Mike allowed…
Mike had pretended to be a lawyer and Mike had also hire a hacker to put his name in their computer Database.
Mike had committed the crime that is almost unforgivable to the Legal Bar Association .
The Lawyer who control the Bar Association hates Mike .They will want to make an example out of Mike .The Harvard law school also hates Mike ,
who else wants to get their sons into Harvard law school ? The People who runs control the Bar Association .
They are also the one who will judge if a person can pass the ethics Board test .
In real life , the Bar Association will give a person (with criminal record exactly) like Mike a License .

Sons? Really? Harvard has women in their law school and has for many many decades!
The undergraduate schools were separate at one time: Radcliffe for women. Harvard for men.

Re: Is Mike allowed…
He didn't hire a hacker to put his name in Harvard's database. She did it on her own to say thanks and told him after.
I think it's possible that he passes the Bar. There's a guy on CBS's reality show, Hunted, who is currently a lawyer in 2 states and he has quite the record. And this is all verifiable, not just for the show.

Re: Is Mike allowed…
I find it interesting that there is an "ethics committee" for lawyers, considering how many lawyers are scumbags. If they passed it, what exactly does the ethics committee prevent?
Also interesting, considering no other profession that requires a license has an ethics committee. Why exactly does such a thing exist in the legal field? It is obviously not doing its job in any case.

Is Mike allowed…
I mean if it is legally possible, we know he has the knowledge.
