Duel : radiator hoses

It was a '71 Plymouth Valiant. 'nuff said.

Lol Plymouth, Dodge produced some real stinkers during that time.

Coupled with the fact that there was a lot of hill climbing, stressing that puny slant six even more!

There was no bulging at the part of the fissure on the hose. I figured that the attendant was indeed trying to pull a fast one on Mann, heard Mann's snarky muttering, and put a razor to it.

In the short story it clarified that he had recently had the car steam cleaned and hadn't heeded a warning to change the hoses as they would crack.

Back then,it was common for cars to over heat,in hot,weather.And for hoses to fail. If a radiator hose in that car was leaking,especially driving that over burdened engine at high speeds,all the coolant would have been gone in minutes.And the engine would cut off.And probably explode or burn.

The truck driver should be thanked for getting a Plymouth Valiant off the road.
