world war and ghosts ??? who came up with that?

i couldnt stop laughing when when they showed a world war 2 premise and presence of a ghost on the ship which kills people one by one. and the ghost of whom ? guess what ? its previous captain's ghost !
so haunts the ship which he commanded earlier and now trying to kill his fellow army men. WOW.
and add annoying woman with british accent.

this is american imagination and film making.

Re: world war and ghosts ??? who came up with that?

What exactly is your point? Sounds to me like you're apparently too stupid to get it.

Re: world war and ghosts ??? who came up with that?

I thought it was original myself and creative to come up with a story
like this.
And it isn't so ridiculous either to come with such a situation or setting.
I've read and heard quite a few ghost stories (some claiming to be true cases)
from different times and places.
Anything and any place can be haunted.
Ships,planes,automobiles,prisons,hotels,battlefields etc.

With people's belief in ghosts and their ability to imagine their presence
anywhere it won't be farfetched to be seeing ghosts on spaceships in the future.
In fact that might make a good story.
I would do a movie about a haunted spaceship or space station in the far reaches
of outer space.
Haunted by the ghost of some crew member who killed himself out of despair or loneliness.

Oh one more thing about your comment. A minor correction.
If it was the captain's ghost haunting the ship then he wasn't killing
his fellow army men but fellow sailors.
Those serving on a sub or ship are not army men but navy men or sailors.

Also if this is an example of American imagination and film making then this
is one of the better examples of it as far as horror films go.

Re: world war and ghosts ??? who came up with that?

Hey folks,

Perhaps Blues123 may have mixed up the difference between sailors and soldiers, but he should be entitled to his own personal views when making his comments about the premise of this film. By the time I was finishing high school, I was pretty much past the thrill of horror films and similar stories. I started to watch this film the other night and had no idea it was a WWII submarine story which included ghosts. It had several actors I like, but as the film progressed and I realized what was going on, I was sorry I started to watch it. I stuck it out to the end, and I have to agree with Blues123 about the whole mix of WWII and horror - it just is not my idea of a good story.

Now, for those who do like horror pics, please do not take my comments to mean that you should not like them. We all have different preferences, and I consider the preferences of other folks to be just as valid as mine. I would also give Blues123 the same consideration.

Best wishes,
Dave Wile
