Hey, that's a nice pic ;)

I will remember to put a sig with your name in it when next time someone writes a funny line.

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

Miscella, whenever she is confronted with the truth that she has no evidence for her belief that any god exists, and thus no logical reason for her belief, or why anyone else should believe the same,...

You're not paying attention.

... as if that is supposed to be a cogent response; or a rebuttal; or mean anything at all.

God did not create man in his own image; man created god in his own image.

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

The fact that you keep asking me for evidence of God's existence after I say I believe God exists - and explain the reason for that belief - is either evidence that you aren't paying attention, or straight up proof that you're being intentionally ignorant. I give you the benefit of the doubt because I'm nice that way.

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

How is this evidence of his not paying attention when no evidence of a reason for your belief has ever been given by you OR evidence of intentional ignorance.

How can he NOT be ignorant of something you haven't said? ?

IN other words how can he know what you haven't actually revealed yet?

This is nonsensical.

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

Oh, but I have explained why I believe. Several times. So many times, in fact, that I ran out of ways of explaining it. I've told you as well. Over and over again.

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

...after I say I believe God exists - and explain the reason for that belief...

But, you see, you never did explain the, - LOL - "reason", for that misguided "belief". Maybe you did so in your own mind; but for the rest of us here in reality-land, you have not even began a half-hearted "explanation" of why you harbor and maintain this "belief"; even, and especially, in the complete absence of any credible evidence to justify, warrant, or otherwise explain this inexplicable... "belief".

Where is your evidence?

God did not create man in his own image; man created god in his own image.

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

Where is your evidence?

I can't prove to you that I'm not lying when I say I believe, so I guess you'll just have to take my word for it. Sorry.

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

Belief is necessarily based on evidence; otherwise it's merely baseless speculation.

Where is your evidence?

God did not create man in his own image; man created god in his own image.

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

As I've so patiently explained many times, it's a simple process of elimination:

1. God exists.
2. God does not exist.

I don't believe #2, so until a third option is presented, I believe #1.

For what it's worth, when I did believe #2 (which was most of my life thusfar), I had no reservations about saying so. I never hid behind the silly semantics like most atheists do today.

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

"Belief", or "lack of belief" is not evidence.

Where is your evidence?

God did not create man in his own image; man created god in his own image.

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

It's evidence of "belief" or "lack of belief."

Hello.

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

It's evidence of "belief" or "lack of belief."

Which is still not evidence for your original premise.

Hello.

Where is your evidence?

God did not create man in his own image; man created god in his own image.

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

My "original premise" is the same it's always been: I believe.

Do you believe that I believe?

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

Which remains not being evidence.

Where is your evidence?

God did not create man in his own image; man created god in his own image.

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

Sybil, when I say I believe #1, do you believe me?

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

Belief is not evidence, merely baseless speculation.

Where is your evidence?

God did not create man in his own image; man created god in his own image.

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

New question: Why are you refusing to answer the question that I just asked twice in a row?

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

No, same question - Where is your evidence?

God did not create man in his own image; man created god in his own image.

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

Is there an answer to the new question in there somewhere?

Apparently, you don't want to tell me if you believe me when I say believe, nor do you want to tell me why you won't tell me. Is this top secret information?

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

Where is your evidence for the existence of any god or supernatural being?

God did not create man in his own image; man created god in his own image.

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

Same place as your evidence that the universe explains itself, I suppose.

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

Same place as your evidence that the universe explains itself, I suppose.

Another transparently lame attempt to dodge the question.

Where is your evidence for the ehe existence of any god?

Your every avoidance to answer speaks volumes to your not having any argumentative leg to stand on; and only further weakens your already pathetically laughable position in continuing your indefensible deistic belief, with absolutely no evidence in support of it.

Where is your evidence?

God did not create man in his own image; man created god in his own image.

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

Your every avoidance to answer...

Don't be a hypocrite, Sybil. It's bad enough that you refuse to acknowledge what I've been trying to explain so you can act like I haven't been.

Let me know when you have a third option. Until then, I will continue to "lack belief" in #2, and you can continue to think I'm lying, if indeed you do...

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

...what I've been trying to explain...

You haven't "explained" the rationale, justification, warranting, or any other descriptive reason for your continued and still unevidenced belief in the existence of any god or supernatural being, much less even "tried" to explain.

Let me know when you have some credible evidence to justify your deistic "belief".

LOL!!!!

Where is your evidence?

God did not create man in his own image; man created god in his own image.

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

You still haven't provided a third option.

You do believe me when I say I believe, don't you?

Where is your evidence?

It's talking to me right now. Unless, of course, you don't exist...

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

Where is your evidence for the existence of any god?

God did not create man in his own image; man created god in his own image.

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

Where is your answer to the question I've asked like four times already just tonight?

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

Where is your answer to the question I've asked like four times already just tonight?

Where is your answer to the question I've asked any number of times over the past several months?

Where is your evidence for the existence of any god?

Where is your evidence?

God did not create man in his own image; man created god in his own image.

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

Where is your answer to the question I've asked any number of times over the past several months?

It's in all things I've said that you ignore.

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

It's in all things I've said that you ignore.

Which is.........?

Oh, that's right - it's nothing.

Where is you evidence for the existence of any god?

God did not create man in his own image; man created god in his own image.

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

Which is.........? Oh, that's right - it's nothing. Where is you evidence for the existence of any god?

Yup. You got me. Guess I'm an atheist again. But I need a little help here, as I've forgotten if I'm supposed to subscribe to infinite regress or the theory that something can come from literally nothing for literally no reason at all. Or was it that nature had a natural beginning? Are we still wrong about everything we think we know about natural science? It's been a while since I've been an atheist, but I'm sure it'll all come back to me...

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

What you're "supposed" to do is provide any evidence for the existence of any god, to justify your as yet unfounded belief in such, or why anyone else should believe the same.

Where is your credible evidence?

God did not create man in his own image; man created god in his own image.

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

What you're "supposed" to do is provide any evidence for the existence of any god, to justify your as yet unfounded belief in such, or why anyone else should believe the same.

So...none of the above, then?

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

Where is your evidence for the existence of any god?

God did not create man in his own image; man created god in his own image.

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

Where is your evidence for the existence of any god?

I'm talking to it right now. It keeps asking me for evidence of the existence of any god...

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

And you keep demonstrating that you have none.

Where is your evidence?

God did not create man in his own image; man created god in his own image.

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

And you keep demonstrating that you have none.

Where is your evidence?

Do you have a mirror handy?

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

Guess I'm an atheist again.

You were an atheist in the same way Kirk Cameron was an atheist - you never were. You don't even understand what atheism is and you're going to prove it.

the theory that something can come from literally nothing for literally no reason at all.

There's the proof:

1) Beliefs about the origins of the universe have nothing to do with atheism.

2) Exactly who do you think believes in that "theory" I just quoted you stating? Can you provide a link to anyone stating this theory?

You don't even understand what atheism is and you're going to prove it.

I am? Cool...

2) Exactly who do you think believes in that "theory" I just quoted you stating? Can you provide a link to anyone stating this theory?

So not that one, then? How about infinite regress?

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

How about infinite regress?

It still has nothing to do with atheism but it is yet another example of your cowardly evasion. Now, can you link to an article about this ""theory" that something can come from literally nothing for literally no reason at all."

I'm sure you can easily find some quantum theory about it, and I'm fairly certain Lawrence Krauss held a few lectures explaining it, among others. But considering that neither of us believe it, there's really no need. We can just scratch it off the list. Next up: infinite regress. Yay or nay?

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

Again, neither has anything to do with atheism so why do you keep trying to evade. Why do you lie and claim you used to be an atheist when you don't even know what the word means?

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

Why do you lie and claim you used to be an atheist when you don't even know what the word means?

Tell you what, Cashy, why don't you just tell me what atheism means so you'll know for sure that I know...

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

Atheism is the lack of belief in gods. You can believe in Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, Chupacabra, ghosts, that Two Broke Girls is actually a decent sitcom, that Pepsi is better than Coke, werewolves, vampires, that 9/11 was an inside job, that chemtrails are real, the Illuminati, that global warming is part of a globalist plot to rule the world, that vaccines cause autism or any other stupid sh!t imbeciles believe and it has no relevance to whether or not you are an atheist.

Wow. That was quite an impassioned speech.

Well, that's disappointing. I thought for sure you were going to tell me something I didn't already know. But whatever, at least now you know that I know what atheism is. But about this lack of belief thing... Does that means atheists don't believe #2?

Re: RFS Quotes of the Week

at least now you know that I know what atheism is.

If this is true then why did you claim that to not believe in God you would have to believe that something came from nothing for no reason or believe in infinite regress?
