Jaws : Noticed A Mistake

Noticed A Mistake

Watched with my boyfriend last night at his request (oh the shame of it - he hadn't viewed in 15 years!!). Anywoot, forward to when the meeting with the Mayor is about to commence and there's a board there with a reward (outside the room where the meeting is hosted I believe), - a fleeting, pretty insignificant reel but on this white board the reward was shown as $300,000 and not $3,000. I guess I am not the first to notice this or did my eyes deceive me?

I don't find that funny. I don't find that funny at all.

Re: Noticed A Mistake

No, it's $3000.00. There's no comma but the decimal point is there.

The big mistake is the date that Alex was killed, and the other mistake is that the printing is different from the first shot to the second.

Re: Noticed A Mistake

Oh thanks for clearing that up LOL! I was hoping I had spotted something new and yes, I had just been perusing your thread about the timeline and stuff!

Re: Noticed A Mistake

I always thought it was $3,000 but Quint said he would catch and kill him for 10?

Re: Noticed A Mistake

No question mark required.

Mrs K offered 3, Quint wanted 10.

Re: Noticed A Mistake

Would he have gotten $200 for the first day and either $100 for the second day because he only worked half the day, or $200 for the second day (or part thereof) even though there was only part of him left in the afternoon?

All the little devils are proud of Hell.

Re: Noticed A Mistake

$10,400 was donated to the Amity Scholarship Fund (in memory of Quint).

Re: Noticed A Mistake

I guess he only did half a job there, Phy

Re: Noticed A Mistake

Do you reckon Brody got the money? He did technically kill it and not Quint

Re: Noticed A Mistake

Damn good question, Pez!

Not sure if it was covered in the novel but then again, was Brody technically on official duty? If so I doubt he would pocket the cash (legally, morally or believably), and added to that, there was zero actual evidence and no eye-witnesses to Bruce being blown to smitherines. OK so Hooper could have seen the aftermath from the ocean floor but nobody actually saw the Chief kill the shark.

Even if Brody was granted the cash, I would imagine he would have refused so that the Islanders were not out of pocket which in turn would have made him more acceptable/respectable in the community.

There was no mention of it in Jaws 2.
