Saturday Night Live : Making a big deal about the F-word

Making a big deal about the F-word

I saw the SNL episode of Megan Fox and Jenny Slate says the F-word, when that episode first aired. I also saw the SNL episode of Kristen Stewart saying the F-word. When I saw the SNL episode of Megan Fox, Jenny Slate says the F-word. I didn't know Jenny Slate said the F-word, I found out about it years later. When I saw the SNL episode of Kristen Stewart saying the F-word, I didn't know she said it, I barely could hear what she was saying. After Kristen Stewart said the F-word, she said oops and cover her mouth and Kate was laughing so hard about it. When I was watching it, I really didn't know, what Kristen Stewart said but after the episode was over, I had to find out what happen on the computer. The next day yahoo news is making a big deal about Kristen Stewart saying the F-word on SNL. I know that, you can't say the F-word on SNL but I wish that on the computer, they won't make a big deal about it.

Re: Making a big deal about the F-word

It happens to be one of the last bad words you can't say on network TV . so people make a big deal.

Re: Making a big deal about the F-word

Holy hell, what a rambling mess of a post. Get it together!

Re: Making a big deal about the F-word

Has it occurred to you that English may not be their first language?

Re: Making a big deal about the F-word

I don't know why they don't use a delay. It didn't bother me, but there is no reason to not have a delay like they do on the radio.

Ive been in the audience for the show 15 times now. To my understanding they take the Live thing very seriously with the only episode I know having a delay was Andrew Dice Clay hosting because he was known to curse. Im sure theyd rather pay the (few thousands) fine then lose credibility of lying about the name of their own show.
Its also a waste to do delay the 98% of shows with no f word (Its only slipped out on 8 episodes out of close to 1,000 over 42 years.

ALSO The show doesnt even start until 11:30pm and by the slip up its almost midnight. The F word shouldnt ever air on NBC but I imagine it has less impact airing at midnight then 8pm. They air porn at 1am on HBO and any same kid flipping through their parents tv at midnight to hear *beep* on NBC could easily stumble on porn an hour later on HBO (i know its different)

Re: Making a big deal about the F-word

I understand what you are saying. Again, I'm not offended by the F word. And, I don't think it will warp kid's minds to hear that on SNL.

I just also don't think bleeping out the F word would ruin their credibility as being a live show. It isn't the 8 out of 1,000 times they slip up and say the F word which is interesting. It is the time they break character and start laughing that is funny - especially when it is Jimmy Fallon laughing because as Drew Barrymore is getting out of the pool ahead of him, she slips and he ends up with his nose on her azz.

Ironically, if I remember correctly, them breaking character bother Lorne more than anything else.
