What's Happening!! : Dee

Watching this show for the first time in almost 30 years I've noticed there's nothing likable about the character Dee.

Bratty or not she just wasn't well written or likable character. There wasn't anything cute or funny about her she really came off as a jerk.

You must be kidding. She WAS the show. She was absolutely hilarious and could deliver her lines with perfect timing and be mean and funny at the same time. Totally deadpan.

Yeah her lines were good, but that was it. Also her lines are what made her bratty. But it seems that was her whole personality and to me some lines the other characters said were put in just so she could say something bratty/witty. Which is why I think the acting was lacking.

well i guess we agree to disagree. I though she was spot on. I didn't see her as a brat at all; a little mean yes, but not a brat. She would just say these lines that nailed the moment so perfectly.

I guess the character lacked any real personality and was just there to set up the next joke.

At times she just seemed very mean spirited.

But unlike Archie Bunker or Fred Sanford who would say certain things they still had a human element to them.

gc18 I completely agree with you. Dee was absolutely terrible in every way. That monotone voice, how annoying and irritating she was, how the actress always looked into the camera. Just bad. I completely get being a bratty little sister but the writers should have attempted to make her character someone people wanted to be around.

She is okay by me but her teeth sucking drives me crazy when she's about to deliver her lines
