Malibu High : Other Crown Grindhouse releases

Are any of the other ones any good?
I also saw a 20 movie box called the Grindhouse Experienceanyone know if it's any good?

BCI has released a series of "Grindhouse" Crown double bills - and also repackaged a lot of them already into 2-DVD versions with 8-movie sets, under titles/themes like "Drive In Cult Classics" (Crown's exploitation titles - "Mailbu High" is in this one), "School Dazed" (Crown's teen sex comedies) and a horror one "After Dark Thrillers" etc. You can find them on Amazon. Great value, pretty okay transfers and great fun for under $20!

Rhino also put out a couple of mega-sets called "Horrible Horrors Vol.1" and "Horrible Horrors Vol.2" which were a multi-film scattershot sampling of Crown thrillers and horror from the late 60s through to the late 70s. Another cheap and fun pair of sets - though I think they are out of print now.

AVOID AVOID AVOID "The Grindhouse Experience" - it is the WORST DVD set I have ever purchased. The set's crappy film transfers seem like they are directly from an eighth or tenth generation videocassette that is quickly disintegrating, with lots of VCR tape "pinches" and the like - just awful, and not in a "Grindhouse" good way, either. Just a rip-off. BUYER BEWARE!!!
