The Walking Dead : jriddle73 continues the TWD community on Facebook?

Only a few days left until IMDb ends these boards forever. There's a new Facebook group aimed at continuing this crazy WALKING DEAD community, along with the Z NATION community. Everyone, fans and critics alike, is welcome. It's here:

Since I'm one of the folks behind it, TWD's arch-critic, some have expressed some skepticism about the project, so I thought I'd try to outline my aim. The immediate purpose of the Fbook group is, of course, to preserve this community, such as it is, as it will soon be gone. I've been with IMDb for 14 years, or so IMDb tells me. The boards here are irreplaceable. Besides the mainboard system, parts of which are really great, it's one of the few places one can go and interact with other viewers of just about anything. Boards, "clubs" or even most Facebook groups that are devoted to a particular movie or tv series tend to be run by hardcore fans and far too many of them have an unfortunate habit of disallowing any criticism of their subject or even any sort of boisterous, full-bodied discussion of it. On the other end, you have the I-hate-TWD pages and groups, who don't allow fans. I'm more of a speak-freely kind of guy. If someone says something with which I disagree, I prefer to simply make the case to the contrary and let whoever cares decide who has the better argument. I haven't liked TWD for a long time, it's true, but I love plenty of other shows and I understand how hard it can be to find good places to discuss them with other viewers, places that aren't forced by some heavy-handed moderators to be merely uncritical love-fests. I have little use for groups like that, no matter how much I may love the movie or the show to which they're devoted. I've been kicked out of plenty of them over the years, not only for being critical of their subjects but also in defending people who were critical and were unfairly punished for itI've stood up for them even when I've disagreed with the criticism and I've gotten the ban-hammer dropped on me for it.

The new Facebook group is meant to be the sort of discussion forum I would want for a show I love. And, in fact, it's been expanded to cover Z NATION, which is a show I love. Jenn, my co-conspirator on the project, is a big TWD fangirl. If the group takes off, it may eventually expand to cover other showsafter all, TWD and ZN won't go on forever. Right now, the important thing is to draw in as many viewers/readers/fans/critics/etc. as possible before these boards end. You're invited. Everyone is invited. Isn't there like a million facebook groups out there dedicated to the Walking Dead already? Why would anyone join your one? Not a dig, genuine question?

Among other things, this one doesn't have heavy-handed mods who demand unquestioned praise of the subject and get rid of anyone who doesn't offer it. It's aimed at being more like this place. Maybe not this place lately but before the Apocalypse began to take hold.

I have been around this forum near its infancy. This username is newer.

I don't know when it originally started. I don't even remember how I first got here, though I'm pretty sure the Horror board was where I first landed. That onethe Horror boardwas really the crown jewel of the IMDb boards. Film General went through some good times as well.
