What about pink under garments?

Now that is really pushing the envelope and revealing your kinky fetishizes. Pink undies on a chick is typical girly. On a guy it is hot.

Hot pink is also hot on guys and just generic typical for a female to wear. Mauve\Lavender, I associate more with old ladies. Strong vibrant purple can look on great on both genders with darker skin tones.

The only pink I ever wear is a light pink sweater during the winter. Otherwise I think it's a grotesque colour in general most of the time. Hairclips and scrunchies are an exception though.
On the other hand, I LOVE wearing purple- which seems to be a colour that a lot of ppl have mixed feelings about.

Actually a LONG time ago, before the turn of the century ~1899-1900~ pink was used as a BOY'S color and blue was used as a GIRL'S girl! Reason being, pink is a light version of red, and red signifies masculinity and strength, so a SOFTER red ~pink~ was used for baby boys and young boys. Blue was seen as a softer, and more delicate color, hence associated with femininity, so light blue used for baby girls and young girls.

This is why in many of the OLDER Disney cartoons, most of the Disney princesses wear light blue, such as Snow White, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. You will rarely EVER see a Disney girl wearing pink.

I'm not sure how or WHY they got switched in the early 20th century. Unless b/c girls were becoming stronger and more independent.

That is the contradiction surrounding pink. I see red as more of a passionate and forceful assertive color. Wasn't it also a stigma for females to wear red, due to being seen a scarlet woman? Army uniforms have been blue for many males through in the 1800's? Look at the both sides of the American Civil War, just different shades.

I'd say that blue has strongly been associated with masculinity, and as for pink for being a boys color at the turn of last century, I would have to research that. The thing is, if females are becoming stronger and yet choosing pink to represent themselves, it is having the reverse effect. Pink is NOW seen as a softer feminine color, and many staunch\masculine alpha males would likely refuse to wear it. It is NOT really a color that signifies strength.

I think the idea of pink being a softer feminine color has just been so codified into our culture that ppl now days have a hard time seeing it as any other way. So I'm guessing this is why so many males would refuse to wear pink and see it as a girly color just b/c they have been taught this for so many years.

And I was just speculating that women becoming stronger and more independent COULD have been the reason for the switch initially, and maybe pink just became so associated with girls, it's now seen as a definitive girl color.

Yeah do some research on it, b/c I found it quite interesting how it used to be totally reversed, I remember reading that when a baby boy was born, ppl would adorn their front doors in PINK.

And again I've heard this is why so many girls in Disney cartoons wear a lot of blue, b/c Walt wanted to stay true to that old tradition.

Females are genetically wired to like pink. It's the color of their vulva.
