Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence : Favorite scene

Favorite scene

What's yours? Mine is when Bato returns home after a hard days work, feeds his dog and relaxes on his recliner with a beer. The music also makes it more memorable, it's just a really nice scene.

Re: Favorite scene

I don't know if I have a single favorite scene, but the virtual experiences that Batou and Togusa go through are very well made. They're so nightmarishly surreal, especially when Batou says "God is everlasting geometry" and his face opens. They're very creepy scenes.

The festival is obviously great too.

Re: Favorite scene

I haven't seen this movie in some time, but my favorite scene in the movie was when Bato and Togusa meet up with the informant at the festival, and they've taken him to some out-of-the-way place to question him. It seems as if Bato has roughed him up, but the scenery in the scene is just so memorable. There was something about the traditional Chinese setting with the misty grey/white tones that just looked beautiful. For me, this movie was very complex and hard to follow at times, but there's a definate mood and style that is far beyond almost anything out there.

Re: Favorite scene

Hard to pick, but for now I'll go with the convenience store scene. I love the way Oshii paralleled the divide between virtual and real worlds with the current debate of CG vs. hand-drawn animation.

Share yours.

Mines still, When Bato returns home after a hard days work, feeds his dog and relaxes on his recliner with a beer.

Re: Favorite scene

I love the very last scene starting from Makoto showing up all the way leading up to the credits, I love the music at the very end when Batou was fighting off the puppets (the live version in the Kenji Kawai concert was amazing too, the choir is so spectacular performed live, and the awesome drums, it's on youtube =))

The scene where Batou and Makoto fought their way through, then Batou putting his sweater on Makoto and she responded with "You haven't changed".

Makoto reaping her arm off like she did in the first film but this time she succeeded without getting herself almost killed.

The very last scene at Togusa's house where they didn't show anyone for a moment, I thought it was similiar to the first film when the garbage man was showing his family photo to his coworker. (How do you know you didn't just magine your daughter and your family?), seeing his daughter finally showed up at the last second made it a very good ending to me.

Re: Favorite scene

I liked the convenience store scene and when they are in that plane/helicopter approaching the place where that fantastic parade takes place also a favourite scee
