Dancing with the Stars : Are the Judges Blind?
Re: Are the Judges Blind?
Julianne probably wants him to win. She compared him to Helio, who she won with, on the first episode.
Re: Are the Judges Blind?
I hope she's not that superficial. I honestly don't get the love for James. He acts like a clown on the dance floor and that means he has this great personality?!
Re: Are the Judges Blind?
But I bet you like Ryan, right? James might actually win this thing, and rightfully so.

Re: Are the Judges Blind?
I have no problem with Ryan because the judges aren't continually kissing his @$$ to the detriment of other contestants.
Re: Are the Judges Blind?
I think that they give him far too much credit (Ryan). He's SO boring! And insincere!

Re: Are the Judges Blind?
I think the judges have given James way more undeserved credit than anyone else this seasonby far! He freaking stumbled and the judges didn't even mention it and then they give him 10s! 10s?! Are you freaking kidding me?!
Re: Are the Judges Blind?
I agree, the judges should have deducted points for stumbling and screw up during the tango. That was not a perfect dance and I think he is over rated and over scored. Janna's dance was beautiful and I thought she should have gotten a higher score.
NO, but maybe YOU are…
James Hinchcliffe is at this point probably the best dancer on the show. He didn't stumble, he was nearly perfect in his tango with Sharna and he deserved the high score he received.
Sometimes I think people write their "opinions" on this message board with their minds already made up, that Laurie or Calvin or Jana were better. But when somebody else James, in this case actually receives a higher score, these folks make up stuff like "ARE THE JUDGES BLIND???"
Well, no, kirx, the judges aren't blind. They are all professional dancers themselves, and they know what to look for. In the case of James and Sharna's tango tonight, the salient comment from the judges was that James' frame was outstanding. And it is. If you have recorded that dance on your DVR, watch it again and you'll see: The man is steadiness personified.
Cheers,
Dan

Re: NO, but maybe YOU are…
he did stumble over the stage lights well after the dance was over on his way up to the box to talk with erin and receive his scores, but he shrugged it off as a non-event and kept moving on - this would have a zero influence on his finished dance :)
Re: NO, but maybe YOU are…
This kirx guy posts all the time how about horrible James is. He says he can't dance and is boring and blah, blah, blah. You would think James shot his dog or something.
I do not have attention deficit disorOoh, look at the bunny!

Re: NO, but maybe YOU are…
Rewatch the dance. There was a noticeable stumble and some missteps. This was not a 9 dance, let alone a 10. The judges may indeed have been blinded by the fog, although they most certainly kiss James's @$$!
Re: NO, but maybe YOU are…
I don't usually agree with your assessment of James and his performances, but this week I definitely felt that he was way overmarked.
Good posture? I don't see it. In some shots, it looks like his body is slanted backwards. In another spin, it looked like he lost balance almost tripped. There were a lot of moments of unsteadiness in the dance (not to be confused with the staccato movements typical of tango). I think 9s would have been generous, definitely not 10s. Oh well..
But I think he's gonna make the final, and I hope to see him there. He's pretty likeable lol.

Re: NO, but maybe YOU are…
I appreciate that at least you're not blinded by your like of him and can admit that he was indeed overscored. It's fine to disagree with my dislike of him, but to deny that he was overscored is just ridiculous, so thank you!

I have to agree with you. James isn't my favorite, and although I like Sharna, I won't be voting for him this season. However, usually he is very good IMO. On Monday, however, I thought he was over scored. He looked pretty unsteady at times. I could have seen him getting 8's or even one 9, but two 10's??? Nope!
Re: Are the Judges Blind?
They've already chosen the final three and Laurie will win. It's not rocket science, it's which celebrity and pro will bring the biggest crowd to their tour. It's always about money. You have to remember last week when Tom said the celebrities most people told him they were surprised about were Calvin and James. The final 3 will be Laurie, James and Calvin.
